Calgary Northeast Public Art Sculpture Project

The City of Calgary Public Art Program is now accepting applications for a sculpture project in northeast Calgary. Artists and artist teams interested in creating a community sculpture to be installed at the Genesis Centre are encouraged to apply.

This project is open to all artists who work, live, play, or have a close connection to Northeast Calgary. We encourage submissions from groups that are typically underrepresented, including BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour), LGBTQ2S+ identifying individuals, francophone, deaf persons, and persons with disabilities.

One artist/artist team will be selected.

For more information and details on how to apply, please see the Call for Artists application below. Artists will be hired based on their qualifications and previous experience. A project proposal/design concept is not required at this time.

Key dates

Submission deadline:  Monday, June 6, 2022, 4:59pm MT
Late submissions will not be considered.

Artist information sessions:

Two free, online information sessions will be held to support artists who are interested in applying, and to answer questions about the submission process. Attendance is optional.

  • Friday, May 20, 2022, from 3:00 to 4:30pm
  • Friday, June 3, 2022, from 3:00 to 4:30pm
