The company will rely on a network of diverse sources to recruit artistic and operational talent, with a strong commitment to develop and showcase top Canadian talent. Summary The company manager is a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for the administrative aspects of the artistic department. The company manager will be a point of contact for all artists prior to the beginning of the rehearsal process. The company manager will be responsible for the following: Artistic contracts. Immigration applications as required. Housing for artists as required. Arrange transportation for artists as required (pick-ups at airports). Qualifications: At least five years experience in a performing arts organization. Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge and experience in working directly with artists/agents. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment and demonstrate problem-solving skills. Able to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends, during performances. Duties and Responsibilities: Liaise with artists/agents to confirm interest and availability as requested by artistic director. Negotiate and execute contracts for all artists as needed. Contract all chorus members, supers and other performers for each production. Post and schedule audition calls, this includes organizing travel for staff members when auditions held outside of Calgary. Prepare and submit all immigration forms for foreign artists, ensuring compliance with Canadian Government Foreign Labour requirements. Coordinate travel logistics and accommodations for out of town artists as required. Obtain artists bio and headshots for program playbill in a timely manner. Develop a strong understanding of Opera Agreement with Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. Manage budgets for the artistic department. Arrange appreciation events for artists and chorus, including backstage production food, closing night pizza parties and chorus dinner. Assist out of town artists when medical attention is required. Attend rehearsals and performances as requested. Maintain artistic files. Assist staff with business travel as required. Knowledge and Skills: Willingness to work in a team environment. Knowledge of Government Immigration Portal is an asset. Prior exposure to Canadian Actors’ Equity Association agreement is an asset. Prior experience in the non-profit performing arts sector. Must have a valid driver’s license. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
