project prōjekt

The deadline for this opportunity has passed.

We’re excited to announce a collaborative project inviting artists, designers and illustrators in Calgary to submit to works that will inspire, uplift, challenge, and encourage Calgarians as we navigate some of the most difficult times we have experienced as a city. We’ve all had that experience encountering a work of art, design or illustration that has stopped us in our tracks with its bold message. What image will be the iconic Rosie the Riveter or Hope poster for our time and place? Art is powerful—let’s harness it to inspire our community.

Co-presented by Glenbow Museum and Pollock Creative, project prōjekt is a local initiative that aims to support visual artists in Calgary and leverage the power of art, design, and illustration to create an iconic and accessible public art experience. project prōjekt will debut as a part of the GLOW Festival, February 11 to 14, 2021, and the selected artworks will be projected on the exterior of Glenbow Museum on Stephen Avenue.

Artists whose works are selected for the exhibition will be awarded an honourarium of $1,000. Artists 16 years or older, and of all experience levels are welcome. project prōjekt is committed to recognizing a minimum number of emerging artists under 35 years of age and a reflection of Calgary’s diversity. We are committed to being inclusive and enthusiastically welcome works from artists of all backgrounds, identities and abilities.

Deadline for submissions has been extended until January 22, 2021.
