Call for Festival Jurors

The date of this festival has passed.

The SPARK Disability Art Festival is seeking established artists who self-identify as having a disability to serve on the jury for our 2018 festival. Jurors will receive CARFAC fees to independently review submitted materials in order to select artists for exhibition. To access the remote jurying system, jurors must have access to the internet; previous experience with Microsoft office would be of benefit but is not a requirement. In order to be considered for the jury, artists must not intend to submit their own artwork to the current festival.

Artists that are interested in exploring this opportunity further should contact the SPARK Disability Art Festival by email at sparkfestival@icloud.com or Studio C by phone at  403.269.1838.

About the Festival

The SPARK Disability Art Festival is a Calgary-wide celebration of creative self-expression by emerging and professional artists pan-disability. Founded in 2010, SPARK’s mission is to enhance the development of disability arts and culture both locally and globally through exhibition and advocacy. To do this, SPARK advances a creative vision of equality that explores the different themes and diverse aspects of the disability experience through visual art. Working with artists with visible and invisible disabilities, SPARK’s uniting politic is to foster Disability Pride.
