Cassa Pedagogy

Cassa Musical Arts offers training for emerging and established piano teachers in these two sessions—available online or in-person.

Session I

Ancient Music from the 20th Century: This workshop features music from all genres that spoke to Dr. Hamm, and helped open the door to a love of contemporary music.

Picky Beethoven, the Master Director: Explore Beethoven, the obsessive dramatist and his notation, with Dr. Hamm making reference to different editions, and recordings.

Session II

Technique: This topic includes an overview of an approach to technical development, including both the mundane and the extreme…and some ideas not always discussed.

Stylistic Grab Bag:Here, Dr. Hamm will present his thoughts on the wide spectrum of interpretive approaches through history, with examples from some of the great pianists and keyboardists of the past and present.
