Common Good Retirement Plan

The date for this event has passed.

Approximately 850,000 nonprofit and charitable workers lack a workplace retirement plan, and many others are in lower-quality, high-fee plans. However, many employers in the sector find it challenging to provide a high-quality retirement plan. A coalition of prominent philanthropic foundations, nonprofit sector leaders, and retirement security experts has recently launched the Common Good initiative, to create a national, portable retirement income plan for Canada’s nonprofit and charitable sector.

The purpose of these roundtables is to convene decision-makers to learn about the Common Good initiative, as well as to discuss and solicit feedback on the proposed plan. We are also looking for employers who would be interested in offering the Common Good plan to their employees if the plan were made available. A decision about whether to move forward with the plan will be made in Fall 2018, based on the level of interest from the sector.

In partnership with the Institute for Community Prosperity and CCVO, Common Good invites nonprofit leaders to the Calgary Employer Roundtable, followed by a cocktail reception (goes until 7:00pm).

Please join us on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 4:30 to 6:30pm at Mount Royal University’s Ideas Visualization Lounge, located in the new Riddell Library and Learning Centre.

Cost: Free
