Chair and Board Members

As the city’s designated arts development authority, Calgary Arts Development supports and strengthens the arts to benefit all Calgarians.

Calgary Arts Development invests and allocates municipal funding for the arts as provided by The City of Calgary. It then leverages these funds to provide additional resources.

Through its granting and arts development programs, Calgary Arts Development supports hundreds of arts and culture organizations, individual artists, artist collectives, and ad hoc arts groups in Calgary.

Calgary Arts Development strives to increase and use its resources wisely, foster collaborative relationships, promote diversity and integrate arts into the lives of Calgarians. Calgary Arts Development recently received a transformational increase in arts funding to support Calgary in becoming a more innovative city promoting an exceptional quality of life, a diversified economy, and shared prosperity.

As a volunteer chair or board member, you will be responsible for actively participating in the effective oversight and governance of Calgary Arts Development. You will work as a team member to establish strategic direction, framework policies and participate in board committees.

As the successful candidate, you must reside in the city of Calgary, have a passion for the arts and Calgary Arts Development’s mandate. You relish serving the community and bring experience in one or more of the following areas: arts and culture, digital arts, communications, human resources, governance, finance, Indigenous relations, and/or the not-for-profit sector. Your experience includes having served on, or are currently serving on an arts, community, public sector and/or corporate boards.
