Chapbook Making for Young Writers

Join us on November 18, 2018, 2:30 to 5:00pm for a chapbook-making and visual poetry workshop led by local author and publisher Kyle Flemmer. We’ll explore various materials, learn a few different binding techniques, and get hands-on putting together souvenir chapbooks for each participant. Kyle will also deliver a crash course in visual poetry, which we will use to fill up our newly-made chapbooks!

Everything you need for a fun-filled afternoon of arts and crafts will be provided, but if you have particular materials you’d like to work with (paper, fabric, ink, stickers, collage materials, etc.) feel free to bring them!

The Blasted Tree is an independent publishing company founded in 2014 by Kyle Flemmer to support emerging authors and artists. We believe in the magic of collaboration, free digital access to meaningful content, and the long-standing tradition of quality print publication. To date, we have published upwards of 60 titles, from chapbooks to leaflets, broadsides to spoken word anthologies, and worked with dozens of authors from around the world.

As always, tea and cookies will be available.
