Applications are due January 13, 2019. Interviews take place on January 16 and 17, 2019, 6:00 to 8:00pm. CIRCUS! is the newest travelling exhibit coming to TELUS Spark on February 2, 2019! Relive those fond circus memories, from the smell of sweet cotton candy to the wacky sideshow performers, while discovering the scientific secrets behind the scenes. CIRCUS! volunteers will help create a fun, engaging, and immersive experience for all our guests. Availability: Schedule: Shifts run daily from 11:00am to 3:00pm for the duration of CIRCUS! (February 2 – June 9, 2019) Commitment: Two or more shifts per month Mandatory Volunteer Orientation: January 26, 2019 – 10:00am – 4:00pm Mandatory CIRCUS! Training: January 29 or January 30, 2019, 6:00 – 8:00pm Key Responsibilities: Interacting with Visitors: Welcoming, encouraging, and playing with people of all ages (especially kids), asking and answering questions, way-finding. Assisting Facilitators: Prepping and running programming, advertising other events and activities in the building. Facilitating the Circus Costume Exhibit: Engaging and assisting guests, resetting and tidying the exhibit. Proactively Monitoring Safety: Watching for safety concerns, assisting with lost child procedures. This position is best suited for someone who is: Energetic and outgoing. An excellent communicator.
