Date: Thursday, June 13, 2019 Time: Doors open at 6:30pm, talk at 7:00pm Location: BMO Theatre, Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge (11300 Rocky Ridge Rd. NW) Join Laura Haddad and Tom Drugan, the artists of the works Convergence and Flock, for an artist talk and learn more about their artistic process and vision. Light refreshments and snacks will be served at 6:30pm. Convergence and Flock respond to the natural environment surrounding the Rocky Ridge YMCA, creating memorable, iconic experiences that reflect the identity of the community, landscape, and the recreation facility itself. Both pieces are tied to a significant natural feature of the site: the wetland and the knoll. About the Artists Haddad|Drugan is artist team Laura Haddad and Tom Drugan, who specialize in conceptually-driven, site-specific art. The artists’ projects combine an aesthetic concept with a site’s unique dynamics with inspiration from a curiosity of nature, science, sustainability, community and history. Their artworks are often designed to respond to natural phenomena such as sun, sound, light, wind and water. These artworks engage people in a variety of experiences at different scales, vantage points and conditions which create an experience that is deeply felt and memorable.
