Job Opportunities August 31, 2023 Communications Coordinator The Writers’ Guild of Alberta is looking for an individual with strong communications, marketing, promotion, and administrative skills for the full-time position of communications coordinator for the Head WGA Office in Edmonton. This individual is responsible for developing and executing marketing and promotions initiatives to maintain and advance the visibility and public profile of the WGA, as well as our individual programs, services, and events. This involves creating and distributing promotional material, and maintaining relationships with media contacts and other arts contacts who can help promote the organization. The position includes administrative and communications support for the Edmonton Stroll of Poets. The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with experience in communications and marketing. They will have demonstrated ability to reach and effectively communicate with different audiences. Current knowledge and understanding of the literary community in Alberta/Canada is a significant asset. Familiarity with non-profit arts budgeting and office practices are desirable. This is a full-time position of 35 hours per week, with some evening/weekend work required for key events. The starting salary is in the $43,000 – $45,000 range.
