Community Investment Assistant

This is an entry-level full-time position.

The Community Investment Assistant provides essential administrative support to Calgary Arts Development’s Community Investment team, which creates and administers granting programs as well as provides support for arts organizations and artists. The Community Investment Assistant works with the full Calgary Arts Development team to realize our vision and mission:

Vision: A creative, connected Calgary through the arts.

Mission: Calgary Arts Development supports and strengthens the arts to benefit all Calgarians.

Accountabilities include responding thoughtfully to client needs, maintaining data and records, administering online granting tools, organizing meetings, and supporting the Community Investment team in the implementation of its programs. This position also acts as the public’s first point of contact with the Community Investment team on the phone and through email.

Preferred candidates will:

  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills and enjoy maintaining a positive, service-oriented rapport with clients and the public.
  • Be proficient in word processing and database management, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Thrive in a rapidly changing environment and be able to balance multiple tasks of varying depth on a day-to-day basis.
  • Be self-motivated and have strong time management skills to meet team needs.

An active engagement with the arts, cultural, and/or nonprofit sectors is a plus.
