To support the delivery of artistic education and performance program of the Calgary Boys’ Choir through concert planning and execution.

Time Commitment: Casual contract position. Flexible hours, evenings and weekends.

For over 40 years, members of the choir, volunteers, and atistic directors have been steering the Calgary Boys’ Choir Society to what it is today—a thriving musical organization tasked with building character in young men.

Job Description

The choir coordinator works closely with the manager and artistic directors to support the delivery of the artistic education and performance program of the Calgary Boys’ Choir. The role supports the operations of all CBC choirs including rehearsals, workshops, performances, camps and re-auditions. Some administrative duties are required, however, they can be done remotely.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Attend weekly rehearsals at our central location and occasional workshops.
  • Regularly communicate with parents both at rehearsals and via email, preparing notices, schedules, and handouts.
  • Prepare and help coordinate rehearsal and concert schedules, working closely with manager and directors.
  • Input/update lists for membership and concert attendees.
  • Prepare and manage audition times.
  • Communicating with board members and other staff to support the society’s season plans.


  • High school diploma minimum.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work individually and in a team.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work in a deadline focused organization.
  • Computer skills, with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) required. Experience with G-Suite is an asset. Must own computer (Mac/PC).
  • A passion for the performing arts and music.
  • Previous experience in an arts-based or education based organization is an asset.
