Do you have an unquenchable desire to find a good story and help tell it well? We are currently seeking an emerging storytelling practitioner who will benefit from hands-on learning opportunities to progress their career in multimedia content creation.

In this diverse and creative practicum role, participants will gain experience and learn from mentor producers in video, print, and web story production, and will support the marketing and communications team in meeting our social media objectives. Activities and learning opportunities will range from story development, background research, and writing web copy to support video content capture.

What does the Program Offer?

Participants will develop their storytelling skills on all media platforms, as well as refine research, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills through their engagement with staff, faculty, and artists from all areas of Banff Centre.

In this experiential program, participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions about key trends in web content production, print, and video production; attend workshops and cultural events, and expand their personal network through participating in community outreach initiatives and project committees specific to web content production in various media.

Who Should Apply?

Applicants must be versed or familiar with all forms of storytelling media production. You will have either a degree in journalism, media or comparable experience in storytelling. *The weekly tuition fee is covered 100% by financial assistance from Banff Centre.

Successful applicants will receive a daily living allowance while part of the program. Practicums are responsible for their own room and board costs but are eligible for subsidized Banff Centre housing based on availability.
