Stinger Awards

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF) proudly presents the first annual Stinger Awards, to be held on November 24, 2018, at Festival Hall. Named for filmmaker slang for A/C extension cords on a film set, the Stinger Awards is dedicated to recognizing the determination and talent of Southern Alberta filmmakers from all career levels.
Designed to inject a little electricity into the filmmaking community in Southern Alberta, Stinger Awards will provide artists and technicians with an array of awards recognizing their work on screen. With awards ranging from Best Short Form Narrative and Best Long Form Documentary, to Best Animated Production and Friend of the Community, this event is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the amazing work of the talented locale.
