cSPACE Projects is pleased to invite applications for the position of theatre and facility manager. We are looking for an experienced, well-organized and innovative individual who will manage operations of our cSPACE King Edward arts hub, bring technical expertise to the Studio Theatre, and collaborate with our cSPACE team to support our ambitions for creative change in the community.

cSPACE King Edward is our flagship project, a multi-disciplinary arts and community hub in the community of South Calgary.

The 50,000-sq.-ft. multi-tenant facility is home to small and medium-sized non-profit organizations active in the arts and community sectors as tenants, each with their own staff, members, audiences and constituents. Artists also reside as tenants within the facility creating in disciplines such as photography, filmmaking, illustration/graphic design, painting, print-making, jewellery, mixed-media, fashion, costume-making, and sculpture. A co-working space provides short-term flexible space for members who use shared desks on a monthly and daily basis.

In addition to supporting these varied tenant uses, cSPACE King Edward includes highly adaptable event, performance, rehearsal, and meeting spaces. A Studio Theatre supports bookings for theatre, music, cinema and dance presentation or rehearsal and event uses. Public art in common areas and exhibition spaces throughout the facility and grounds provide spaces for artistic events to occur while supporting a vibrant place for the community to gather.

Position Summary

cSPACE is seeking an experienced, well-organized and passionate manager to oversee facility operations of the cSPACE King Edward Arts hub and Studio Theatre while providing effective management in accordance with regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, industry codes and cSPACE’s core values and mission.

The theatre and facility manager will provide oversight of back and front of house operations, leasing and contract administration, information technology, venue rentals, enhancement projects, and overall management of the facility and theatre maintenance for tenant and external client use. The theatre and facility manager will demonstrate effective management expertise to ensure smooth operations and coordinate effectively between building’s artists, staff, community members and external clients.

As cSPACE is a creative space development enterprise, experience related to project management and facility development are an asset.

Remuneration

This is a permanent, full-time salaried position. Total compensation is commensurate with experience, including benefits and professional development opportunities.

Salary range is $65,000 to $80,000 annually.

This is a full-time, salaried position with an intended start date of February or March 2020.
