We are seeking performers of all levels of experience and styles to perform in Dance Montage 2018.
About the Show
Dance Montage is a proud tradition at the University of Calgary. Since its inception in 1969, Dance Montage has created lively performance opportunities for a diverse range of dance artists. Originally an opportunity for kinesiology majors to showcase their dance class projects, Dance Montage has evolved, becoming a hub of creative exchange among dancers and choreographers from the Calgary area. Co-produced by the Division of Dance (SCPA) and the Faculty of Kinesiology, Dance Montage 2018 showcases the spirit of community from across the spectrum of dance while encouraging artistic development for artists of all levels.
Date: Sunday, September 9, 2018, 10:00am – 8:00pm in one-hour time slots
Location: Aux Gym, Kinesiology Complex, University of Calgary (2500 University Dr. NW)
How to Audition
You can audition in three easy steps:
- Fill out an audition form which is available online goo.gl/forms or at the door.
- Arrive early (at least 15 min. before the 1st audition you wish to attend.) No latecomers will be admitted once an audition is underway.
- Sign-up at the door for any (and all) auditions you wish to attend.

There is no limit to the number of auditions you may attend, but please only attend those you seriously wish to be considered for. Warm-up space is available all day. You do not need to be a member of the University of Calgary community to audition—dancers from across the city are welcome!
Choreographers will make casting offers quickly that week and rehearsals start September 16, 2018. Dancers may perform in no more than two pieces.
Performance Details
Dancers commit to all studio rehearsals, run-throughs, technical rehearsals, and performances.
Rehearsal Period: September 16 – November 25, 2018 (10 weeks; two-hour slots on Sundays)
Studio Showing: October 29, 2018 – 6:30pm – 9:30pm
Tech Week: November 26 – December 1, 2018
Performance Dates: November 29 – December 1, 2018, 8:00pm & December 1, 2018, 2:00pm
Performance Location: University Theatre, University of Calgary (230 University Court NW)
