Dancer Auditions

2018 IGNITE! Festival of Emerging Artists dance audition is geared towards emerging dancers working in any style, who are pursuing a professional career in dance. Dancers should be interested in being involved in the creation and performance of an original eight to 10-minute work. Selected dancers will be provided with an honorarium, festival pass and t-shirt.

The choreographers auditioning for dancers this year are:

Amy Badry, Sean Def, Sabrina Naz, Katharina Schier, and Frankie Warren.

Each choreographer will be auditioning for two to seven dancers. Rehearsals will take place between April 16 to June 9, 2018, with production and performances June 5 to 9, 2018.

When: Sunday, April 8, 2018, 1:00 – 4:00pm
Where: Theatre Encounter Studio, cSPACE King Edward (1721 29 Ave. SW). Parking lot and entrance along 29th Ave. SW

Audition Schedule:

  • 12:30 – 1:00pm: Sign in and personal warm-up
  • 1:00 – 1:25pm: Group warm-up
  • 1:30 – 1:55pm: Choreographer 1
  • 2:00 – 2:25pm: Choreographer 2
  • 2:30 – 2:55pm: Choreographer 3
  • 3:00 – 3:25pm: Choreographer 4
  • 3:30 – 3:55pm: Choreographer 5
