About cSPACE King Edward

cSPACE King Edward is a playground for creativity, community and collaboration. We strive to be a place of inclusion and diversity, a home for all Calgarians. This historical sandstone school has been reimagined as an arts hub, innovative venue and coworking space for Calgary to experiment, explore and spark change. It is a place where the unexpected intersections of arts and business enrich each other. A place that celebrates art and culture as a central anchor of everyday life.

Our creative hub, cSPACE King Edward, is home to over 30 tenants ranging from artists, creative entrepreneurs, and culture and community nonprofit organizations. From visual and craft artists and makers, to dancers, performers, filmmakers and literary groups, our 47,000 square foot facility is a rich tapestry of Calgary’s creative talent and a place for the community to be inspired.

Our mission is to provide the conditions that diverse communities of creatives need to remain vital, sustainable and innovative while generating dividends for Calgarians across the city:

COVID-19

Note that in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, cSPACE has been working towards safety precautions following AHS guidelines including but not limited to:

  • Screening and rapid response plan.
  • Physical distancing and building-wide reduced occupancy.
  • Hand sanitizer stations and an increase in cleaning services and supplies.
  • Limiting occasional users by only allowing dedicated desk members and cSPACE staff to work in the Sandbox co-working space.
  • Addition of aesthetic physical barriers for desk separation.
  • Recommendation to use a mask when needed.
  • Building-wide AHS prevention posters and signage.
  • Reduced public hours of cSPACE: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, and Saturday, 11:00am – 5:00pm
