The Position

Working with the executive team, this role will focus on the preparation, coordination and execution of various corporate sponsorship, foundational granting and government funding initiatives and events such as our annual golf tournament. This includes GlobalFest’s various programming pillars and other organizational related activities. This position will also manage the GlobalFest VIP Sponsor Village.

The development manager is a mid-level role within our organization, working directly with stakeholders and other team members across the organization, ensuring adherence to best practices in executing our strategies in fund development and partnership solicitation and stewardship. We want to deliver a consistent and unified brand experience.

The development manager will cultivate strong relationships with our community stakeholders, including corporate partners, foundational and government partners, board of directors, and our patrons. We want strategic and effective development partnerships to support the goals of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the executive team to provide meaningful input and expertise in sharing the responsibilities of sponsorship renewal and solicitation as well as foundation and public sector funding strategies, application, oversight and reporting. GlobalFest programming includes our Elliston Park celebrations, Human Rights Forum, Urban Arts programming, and our year-round Reaching Out community programming.
  • In partnership with the COO, develop and implement an integrated development plan.
  • Manage all aspects of GlobalFest’s sponsor fulfillment including a roster of upwards of 100 corporate partners.
  • Produce a digital strategy in partnership with the marketing/communications manager to integrate social media activity into the development plan.
  • Work in close partnership with other staff members and contractors.
  • Work with our executive team in the management and tracking of relevant budgets and expenditures.
  • Work with our numerous in-kind partners to ensure sponsor fulfillment and compliance.
  • Engage with the community partners and such other duties, as required, and as may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Significant business to business sales experience.
  • Writing, grantsmanship, development of funding campaigns and materials.
  • Professional email, social media and person to person communication skills.
  • Significant funding research skills.
  • Experience in online funding and sponsorship applications as well as written proposal creation.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship development and management.
  • Experience in stakeholder survey strategies.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Windows platforms Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Survey Monkey and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license and your own vehicle are an asset.

Salary: $50,000/annual (comprehensive benefits plan after 3 months)
