Empathy Week Intern

Humainologie is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following 2018/19 internships. If you are passionate about the work of Humainologie and the Calgary Centre for Global Community (CCGC), we would love to hear from you.

These are volunteer positions, but interns may be eligible for a small bursary.

Deadline for applications is November 30, 2018.

The Empathy Week Intern will work closely with the Director, Operations in order to support the Empathy Week project of Humainologie and the CCGC.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Preparing, in consultation with the Director, Operations, the 2019 Request for Proposals (RFP) for community partners in Empathy Week 2019.
  • Researching and proposing appropriate community organizations and individuals to include on the list for dissemination of the RFP.
  • Circulating the RFP to appropriate community organizations and individuals, according to the agreed-upon list provided by November 30, 2018.
  • Reviewing submissions and recommend programs for inclusion in Empathy Week 2019.
  • Assisting in the creation and dissemination of promotional material, including posters, programs, media releases, etc., in the period January 15 to May 30, 2019.
  • Managing social media and website updates prior to and during Empathy Week.
  • Volunteering at Empathy Week events as mutually-agreed upon.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills are required, along with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Event planning, graphic design, social media management and research skills are assets.

This opportunity is expected to run from December 1, 2018, through June 15, 2019, (negotiable).
