Events Officer
Volunteer with the Calgary Jazz Orchestra Society (CJO) as the events officer to manage and oversee the six major concerts of the season. The mission of the CJO is to advance the public’s appreciation of the arts by providing high-quality musical performances in public places and to advance education by providing musical instruction to musicians of all ability levels.
Details:
- Plan and execute the event schedule.
- Consult with artistic director for concert requirements and direction.
- Contract musicians and sound engineer for rehearsals and performances.
- The primary point of contact at the concert.
- Write speaking points for the emcee.
- Work with the artistic director for the song order of the program, work with the music librarian for song details, have the program printed.
- Create the stage notes for the musicians, sound engineer and stage manager before the concert.
- Three-year term. A one-time term renewal is possible
