Adventures with Greek Mythology

Who: Homeschoolers, ages eight to 14

Imagine ancient Greece where the nature of the world and its origins are explained through myths and shed light on a civilization that has influenced modern civilization. In a series of fun-filled drama classes, players will begin with self-development drama activities in order to expand their vocal and body expressive tools. With this enriched self-awareness, they will then develop their communication skills through storytelling, stagecraft, and Greek theatre and performing arts techniques. On the last day of classes, players will share their theatre and performing arts skills with confidence, by presenting an adaptation of a Greek myth (TBD). This celebration of learning presentation is for friends, family and anyone who would like to see how we play.

These classes are connected to the Alberta Education Language Arts and Drama curriculum and include studies in storytelling, team building, presentation, problem-solving, creativity, vocal and body training, and public speaking skills.

Dates: Mondays, September 17 – December 17, 2018, 11:45 – 2:45pm (no class October 8, November 12 & until 6:00pm on Dec 17, 2018)
