Fundraiser

Term: This is a part-time, 15-20 hour per week position, for one year, with the likely possibility of multi-year renewal
Start Date: Aug 1, 2022

The fundraiser will be responsible for working with the producing director and operations manager to help develop and submit grant applications to governments, foundations and corporations. Trickster is currently funded by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Calgary Arts Development, CIP, The Canada Council, Heritage Canada, Rozsa Foundation, Calgary Foundation, Telus, EPCOR and other foundations and corporations.

The fundraiser will primarily be responsible for the development of new funding sources, as well as participating in the stewardship of existing funders. The position will have mutually agreed upon targets in terms of both applications submitted and amounts raised over various periods of time.

The successful candidate will have at least three years of experience as a fundraiser with a solid track record. The position will require exceptional organization and the ability to manage a large number of files at one time. Our company uses Google Workplace, Salesforce, Grant Connect, Calendly and Adobe Creative Suite as our primary software. This position may be almost entirely done from a home office.

Based on performance and experience, the hourly fees will be negotiated between $25-29 per hour plus four per cent holiday pay and stat holidays.

The position will report to the producing director. There will be a six-month performance review.

Trickster is the largest children’s theatre company in Alberta and primarily delivers one-week residency programs to schools across Alberta. The company is also involved in online and live short-term projects related to global issues, storytelling and science. Trickster was founded by the producing director in 1980.

Trickster had a very effective response to Covid and is now integrating a number of new programs into our regular offerings to schools. This position will be key to finding the funds to continue with those adaptations as well as finding sponsors to subsidize their sales to schools. The other main fundraising focus will be to find funds to support our main week-long school residency program, our new artist training program, as well as capital programs for touring equipment replacement.

References will be required. Please send resume to production@trickstertheatre.com. No phone calls please. Only qualified applicants will be contacted.
