General Auditions and Meetings

General auditions and meetings are conducted to ensure access by means of an introduction to Artistic Director Nikki Loach, and Artistic Associate Ali DeRegt.

Quest encourages all artists to explore theatre for young audiences as part of their ongoing practice. We are open to inspiration from any artist who is passionate about sharing their love of theatre with young people. We welcome artists of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, religious affiliations, and abilities, as these represent the audience we serve.

Our programming covers the scope of performance, arts education, community engagements, play readings, creation development projects and volunteer opportunities. We are interested in meeting actors, playwrights, stage managers, directors, designers, and other artists interested in conversations about, or projects for, young audiences.

Discover more about Quest by visiting questtheatre.org.

If you would like to audition or meet with our artistic director and artistic associate, please send an electronic resume and photo (performers) or resume and cover letter/examples of work (other artists) to Artistic Director, Nikki Loach at artistic-director@questtheatre.org.

Please make subject heading: Quest Theatre General Auditions and Meetings 2022.

This request is useful as emails that do not have this subject heading can be missed. We thank all artists in advance for their interest, however only those selected for an audition or meeting will be contacted.

Deadline for submissions or requests is Thursday, April 14, 2022.

Auditions and interviews take place in person on Monday, April 25 and Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Slots are 15 minutes in length, and take place in the Quest Theatre Rehearsal Hall, cSPACE, King Edward (Suite 325, 1721, 29 Ave. SW).

Although we strongly support our local Alberta theatre community, we welcome the opportunity to meet artists from other provinces.

For Performers

Auditions are open to equity and non-equity artists. As Quest Theatre is a professional touring company, artists must perform during the day and cannot be enrolled as full or part-time students as of September 2022. Auditions will be in-person unless Alberta government regulations change. Video auditions are possible by request.

Please prepare two contrasting monologues that take no longer than 3 minutes together. Pieces do not have to be TYA in content.

Quest Theatre is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres and operates within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre Agreement. Equity members cast in any production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
