A wonderful opportunity for those interested in learning about art, museums, are education, and material preparation. The Discovery Room at Glenbow provides art-based activities for both children and adults guests. Volunteers will work alongside museum educators to engage the public in art activities related to current museum exhibitions. Volunteers will assist with activities and projects, demonstrate artistic techniques (which they will be taught), tidying activity stations, and preparing art materials. Public engagement in collaborative art will take place on Stephen Avenue Mall during Stampede Week. As well, volunteers can receive artifact handling training during public programming. We are seeking volunteers who are friendly, who enjoy working with the public and children, are reliable and committed, and enjoy teamwork in a busy setting. Opportunities are primarily available between 12:00 to 3:00pm or 1:00 to 4:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as 5:00 to 8:00pm on Fridays. A minimum of two shifts per month is suggested aside from when you may be away on family/ personal holidays or activities as the schedule is flexible.
