About David Brunning

David Brunning, also widely known as TheKidBelo, is a Saskatchewan born, contemporary artist residing in Calgary, Alberta. Working in a wide variety of mediums since the late 1990s, the graffiti artist and large-scale muralist have expanded into the fine art realm with his influential, abstract work. He seeks to create paintings that ultimately inspire others to see past the obvious, feel beyond the nominal and permeate the beautiful connection found between art and humanity.

The range of his work is diverse, extending from the vividly colourful, letter infused adaptations to the more subtle and minimal, sometimes architectural, forms of composition. David’s abstract paintings derive inspiration from his years as a street artist, as well as his many travels and daily observations. His paintings are known nation-wide, reaching even internationally to New Zealand and Columbia.
