Archived June 21, 2017 Happenings 9 Heritage and Canadian Dreams Date: Monday, August 18, 2017, 6:00–9:00pm Location: Arts Commons, Mezzanine Level of Centre Court above Ca’ Puccini (205 8th Ave. SE) Happenings at Arts Commons in an art event unlike anything in Calgary! Happenings at Arts Commons is a free artist reception and art party where artists and audiences are able to engage in meaningful ways that are both playful and intriguing. Celebrating the exhibiting visual and media artists and their projects in the Arts Commons galleries, as well as featuring art activities, live performances, experimental panel discussions, film screenings, and more, Each Happenings is themed and no two are alike. Arts Commons is seeking proposals for art activities, short workshops, live artistic demonstrations, duration or roaming performers and photo-booth installations etc. Happenings # 9 current theme is Canadian heritage, multiculturalism, identity and celebration. A successful art activity shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes for a participant to execute and it is ideal that the activity provides options for participants to customize their creations. It is also ideal that the activity is all ages. Proposals should have: 500 word (max) proposal about what you would like to do at Happenings and how it connects to the current exhibitions. List of technical support (what you would need to complete your art activity at Happenings) Budget (how much will your supplies cost?)
