Heavy Industries has an opportunity for a student to join our business development team for a three-month term over the summer.

Ideal candidates will be studying business, communications, administration, marketing or any related areas.

As the business development coordinator, you will have an opportunity to dive into the world of art and architecture, working alongside our business development and marketing teams to grow the business.

Your responsibilities will be to conduct market research, business development data management, contact list and CRM management, proposal research and support, customer engagement, marketing support and general administrative support.

Sales experience is preferred and the successful candidate will understand the fundamentals of the sales process and business development strategy, be extremely organized, punctual and process-focused.

Business Development Coordinator Responsibilities

Work with internal and contracted resources to develop and refine prospecting contact lists.

Research prospecting opportunities:

  • Conduct industry research for targeted geographic areas.
  • Support business development research initiatives.
  • Identify new businesses doing work that fits our sweet spot.
  • Refine broad contact lists and qualify prospects for further research.
  • Filter out contacts that do not meet our criteria.
  • Research urban and suburban development projects and qualify them within budget/timing/size/scope etc.
  • Identify key decision makers at development companies.
  • Prepare prospects for business development contact.
  • Provide refined prospecting lists to business development and marketing.
  • Assist team in data entry and administrative tasks.
  • Assist marketing team with content generation and distribution.
  • Assist with proposal research and development.

Note that pay will be relative to skills and experience.
