Call for Theatre Professionals

The Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI) is excited to partner with Downstage Theatre for a project that will take place in early December 2021.

The project is designed to give newcomer and immigrant theatre professionals an opportunity to learn about the theatre community in Calgary and gain hands-on experience while being paired with a Calgarian buddy from the theatre community.

We are looking for newcomer and immigrant actors, designers, theatre directors, and stage managers. There are five openings in total. The project has a production schedule from October to December 2021 which includes rehearsals, production meetings, and a final reading.

There is an honorarium of $400 for this project, please find more details below.

Eligibility
  • Applicants should be immigrant theatre professionals (not born in Canada).
  • At least 18 years of age.
