Join Momo Movement’s Artistic Director Kyra Newton for a community teacher training opportunity open to movement facilitators of all kinds including dance, yoga, physical education, and other movement methodologies. You can expect to learn about equity and how to create it in the classroom; different disabilities and how to meet varying needs; dance exercises for all bodies and minds; the different dance paradigms out there related to mixed-ability dance environments; how to compose the space, work with music, create a successful lesson plan; and give yourself and others feedback. The training will run on Saturday and Sunday, January 4 and 5, 2020. On Sunday, each facilitator will have the option to co-teach a class open to the public, afterwards, you are welcome to receive the group’s feedback. This training is intended to nourish the dance teacher and create safer spaces for inclusion and experiencing dance. This training is open to adults over the age of 18.
