The Indefinite Arts Centre is a fun, fast-paced, dynamic work environment where everyone pitches in for a great cause—to provide artistic training, creation and exhibition opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our amazing team.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Embody our vision and ensure that all visitors and artists are greeted and made to feel welcome.
  • Be a great communicator with the ability to work autonomously yet contribute as a key member of our team.
  • Take initiative and contribute to the smooth running of our organization that provides high-quality service to our artists.
  • Be experienced in the administrative duties associated with operating reception.
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Your primary duties will be to: 

  • Open the Centre to our artists and the public every day—unlock front door; prepare cash floats; ensure snack inventory is stocked.
  • Prioritize the wellbeing of our artists—track and manage daily attendance; liaise with studio instructors, as required, to meet individual artists needs; communicate with artists/their families as required.
  • Manage waitlist; administrate intake process; track new artists; Assist with orientation of new artists.
  • Ensure our Centre’s reception is friendly and efficient; answer phones; answer questions; facilitate studio tours; manage mail.
  • Take payments for sessions and other purchases and track billable project costs.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming lounge area.
  • Assist with administrative duties of the Centre, as required.

Some Important Details

Hours: Monday – Friday, 30 hours per week
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
Benefits: Full benefits; RRSP and/or TFSA contributions.
