Indigenous Studio Practicum

Indigenous Studio Practicum

Studio Practicum (previously work study) programs are opportunities for indigenous artists that expand and enhance participants’ technical skills and increase knowledge in the various mediums supported by the Visual + Digital Arts department. There are currently opportunities in photography/video, print and papermaking, and sculpture/ceramics. An Indigenous artist will be selected for one, or all, of these positions based on artistic merit and technical skill.

Practicum participants will receive regular mentorship and feedback from Studio Facilitators in support of their professional development. Under the supervision of experienced mentors, Practicums assist staff in the delivery of Visual + Digital Arts programs learning about maintenance and safe operation of studio facilities and offering studio assistance to artists participating in creative residency programs.

Program Dates: October 17 – September 8, 2016
Application Deadline: June 29, 2016

*Practicum participants will receive a weekly living allowance.
