Into the Designers Space

Due to COVID-19, this opportunity has been postponed.

Whether you’re producing your own show or stepping into a process as a designer for the first time, an understanding of transforming your space is key. Design is the way in which we create the world of the show we wish to see. It can transport us, support us, and convey every theme and feeling with only a glance.

In this workshop, Kathryn Smith will guide you through a designers process; both with and without a budget; in a variety of spaces. She will provide visual and hands-on learning for participants to transform their own space and witness how designers can support the story of the play while being artful in their own right.

Topics covered will include:

  • From first ideas to opening night.
  • How designs compliment each other.
  • Designing on a budget.
  • Hands-on set decoration and lighting play.

Space is limited; to participate in the workshop please register in advance through our box office by calling 403.246.2999 or email tickets@morpheustheatre.ca.

All participants must 18 or older.

Date: March 22, 2020, 11:00am – 5:00pm
Cost: $60 (registration online, by phone or email)
Location: Morpheus Rehearsal Centre (Lower Level, 3512 5th Ave. NW)

Refreshments will be served from 110:30 to 11:00am so feel to come early and settle in.
