Introduction to the Chekhov Acting Technique

The deadline for this opportunity has passed.

How often when playing a role, has the actor been forced to immediately “feel” the moment, to “pull up” the emotion from their past experiences and life history? This can often be difficult to achieve and maintain, especially when performing in a long production.

Using physical gesture and imagination as a rehearsal technique, the Chekhov approach to acting will provide the tools that allow the actor to effortlessly evoke an energy, emotion or atmosphere while combining their psychology, body and voice to create the unique character they are bringing to life.

In this introductory workshop, you will leave your analytical self behind in order to explore the realm of creative self and the study of text and character.

Date: November 10, 2019, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
Cost: $60
Location: Morpheus Rehearsal Centre (Lower Level, 3512 5th Ave. NW)
