The Manager, Volunteers & AGLC Activities reports to the Director, Development and works collaboratively with the entire Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) team. This individual must demonstrate the values of the CPO with emphasis on professionalism and strong ethical behaviour. Purpose The Manager Volunteers & AGLC Activities recruits, manages and stewards CPO volunteers who do a wide range of tasks that provide vital support to the operation of the CPO. The individual also is responsible for managing all aspects of the CPO Raffle and Casino including reporting to AGLC. Education and Experience Five years of experience working in the non-profit world. Ability to build strong, enduring relationships with a wide range of volunteers. Post-secondary education and/or experience in the performing arts. Fundraising experience an asset. Membership in AFP or CAGP an asset. CFRE certification an asset. Primary Responsibilities Volunteer Management: Stewardship: Maintain strong, positive relationships with all CPO volunteers under the position’s direction to ensure their experience is meaningful and personally rewarding. Track volunteer activity and hours of service in the CPO database (Raiser’s Edge or equivalent). Collaborate with the Marketing & Sales, Artistic Operations, Finance and Administration teams, and Senior Management to ensure high caliber experiences for all CPO audiences. Attend CPO concerts and participate in offsite events when and where required. AGLC Activities: Prepare AGLC reports in order to ensure compliance with all AGLC related activities. Recruit and steward volunteers to carry out all AGLC related activities. Patron Programs: Support the Event Coordinator in the successful implementation of the Patrons program (e.g. recitals, receptions, dinners) Other Duties: Other activities and duties as may arise from time to time.
