Media & Advertising Designer

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate that is proficient and comfortable using visual design software such as Photoshop and cares about the aesthetics and design of their work. We are essentially a brand that delivers quality arts and music, and we want quality throughout everything we do, including our visual media; therefore we want someone who cares about the quality of their work. Please provide a brief resume and/or cover letter indicating your skills. Most importantly, a sample set of any prior work (can be coursework, designs for your self, etc.) that shows (1) your skills and (2) your aesthetic and design acumen. This work does not need to be (but can be) in a portfolio format. Your earlier work is the primary way we will assess your quality.

What does this role entail?

To promote our events: we use a cross-section of different media and channels. Each year we promote usually using the following channels (but not limited to) and require content for:

  • Creation of visual media for social media (videos & online picture ads).
  • Creation of digital ads for large electronic digital signs.
  • Creation of festival programs.
  • Other miscellaneous visual work.

What do you get from this?

This role provides you with hands-on experience creating content that will be used to attract people to events and used to inform audience members in an easy-to-read and aesthetic format. Additionally, rather than strictly being within the constraints of coursework and personal work, your skills can be utilized in an applied manner and available for the public to see. This is an incredibly flexible role that allows you to create quality work that is truly your own without substantial interference.

This is an online role, and meetings for the work will take place in Calgary.

Contact, questions, & compensation

There will be an honorarium paid.

Please reach out to us at marketing@lethbridgejazzblues.com with any questions and/or to submit your work/portfolio, resume, etc. Compensation can be discussed and is largely based on (1) your existing experience and (2) your particular skill set as it pertains to the content and mediums Lethbridge Jazz Society commonly adopts.
