Mentorship Program

Supported by TELUS Storyhive and Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF), the Herland Mentorship Program gives six female-identifying filmmakers the opportunity to pursue their creative vision and tell a story with a short film.

Over several months, participants will advance their skills and expertise by immersing themselves into every aspect of the filmmaking process. Established industry mentors will guide participants through story development, screenwriting, directing, storytelling through cinematography, creative editing, and proposal writing. The participants will complete a three to five-minute film that will be screened April 2019 to a public audience.
