Apply today to work on your audition monologues with the director of StoryBook Theatre’s upcoming production of Honk! as a part of their 47th season. Join StoryBook Theatre for their upcoming Monologue Masterclass with Elizabeth Stepkowski Tarhan as either a performer or an observer and learn how to level-up your monologues for your next audition.

This masterclass is a part of our new Professional Artist Development Masterclass Series! We are excited to offer opportunities for artists to work with local professionals and receive valuable feedback to help push them to their growing edge. All masterclass participants will have the opportunity to work with and receive feedback from masterclass technicians for a minimum of 20 minutes. Participants are accepted by application only.

Masterclasses are also open to the public to audit for a reduced rate! We invite all who are interested to attend and learn along with us. Those wishing to observe can register to audit in advance or pay at the door upon arrival.

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Stepkowski Tarhan (she/her) born in Calgary/Mohkinsstsis, is a director, award winning actor, singer and educator. Elizabeth has directed for Calgary Opera, The Shakespeare Company, Seadreamer, Destiny Theatre, the Soulocentric Festival, Storybook Theatre and Stage West. She also directed new work at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, the most recent of which was an exploration of her vision to add Flamenco song and dance to a new translation of The House of Bernarda Alba by the late John Murrell, OC, AOE. Elizabeth is an instructor of Musical Theatre at Rosebud School of the Arts as well as a private coach for singers and actors. Elizabeth has appeared on stages across much of Canada as well as in the US, Mexico and Scotland. A few of Elizabeth’s most reward-ing roles have been Mrs. Peachum in The Beggar’s Opera under the direction of Robin Phillips, Anna in Mata Hari: Tigress at the City Gates and Edith in Doing Leonard Cohen with One Yellow Rabbit, Shirley in Stone and Ashes, Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Mattie Fae in August; Osage County, Margaret in the 40th anniversary production of Waiting for the Parade, Mrs. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice; and the Countess and Widow in All’s Well That Ends Well. Most recently, Elizabeth was the assistant director for The Merry Widow at Calgary Opera. Upcoming, she will narrate a newly commissioned piece alongside Benjamin Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra for the Calgary Philharmonic.Have questions?
