Call for Submissions October 31, 2023 Movement Performers Wanted Seeking movement performers for a collectively devised performance experience Inside Out Theatre and All Bodies Dance Project are seeking performers for Translations, led by Naomi Brand & Collin van Uchelen, presented as part of the High Performance Rodeo Translations is an immersive performance for small audiences designed to be experienced with the “non-visual senses.” Accessible to both blind and sighted audiences, Translations invites everyone to hear, feel, smell and imagine live dance. Who we’re looking for: Calgary-based performers of all styles are welcome to apply. Translations is a collectively devised movement, sound and touch-based performance experience with two different roles available: Performers — Fully involved in the research and creation process [3 weeks: December 12 – 16, 2023, January 8 – 19, 2024] Guides — paired with performers (one to one) for the second portion of the collaboration [2 weeks: January 8 – 19, 2024] This collaborative piece contains text, speaking, memorization and choreographed movement; prior experience performing and speaking in public is helpful. During the workshop portion, we’ll be collectively devising a script and the choreography.
