Office Management and Expansion of our Member Services Programs

We are looking for a candidate with 10 years of professional related experience in craft and cultural management to be responsible for the Alberta Craft Council’s office administration and members services from our downtown Edmonton location.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Alberta Craft Council’s permanent staff and community of champions for craft in Alberta. The successful candidate will join the staff and board in advocating, promoting, and supporting contemporary and traditional craft artists and craft culture in the province.

We are looking for a collaborative individual who will work with the Alberta Craft Council team to oversee our day to day office operations while expanding our existing membership services. During these challenging times adding extra staff hours to expand members services and support is essential to our organization and our members. This position will work with the staff and board to expand, develop, and implement exciting new membership programs and opportunities in professional development, mentorship, and networking.

In addition to being an admin whiz, our ideal candidate has experience working with craft artists in their professional development, demonstrates a strong understanding of the craft sector and its diverse career opportunities and mediums, and has a strong professional network. We are looking for a team member with an aptitude for working collaboratively and independently, strong organizational and communication skills, including proficiency in grant writing.

About the Alberta Craft Council

The Alberta Craft Council is celebrating our 40th anniversary in 2020. We are a provincial arts service organization that develops, promotes and advocates for fine craft in Alberta. The ACC has a dual role: to support contemporary and heritage crafts as significant art forms that contribute to Alberta’s culture; and to develop a craft sector of creative, skilled, viable, and sustainable craftspeople, studio, businesses, and networks. The Alberta Craft Council is the organization of first choice for professional craft artists and craft lovers in Alberta.
