Part-Time Music Teachers Wanted

Teaching Options: In-Studio, Online/Virtual and In-Home

We are growing again! M&P (Music & Play) is accepting applications for the following Part-Time Music Teachers for our 2023/2024 season:

  • Voice
  • Guitar
  • Piano
  • Violin/strings
  • Drum/percussion

Our regular season begins in September, however some summer teaching may be available.

If you have high standards for music and arts education, love to inspire students and would like to help ‘build great people’ as part of one of Calgary’s leading music schools we want to hear from you.

Applicant Requirements

OVERALL

  • Previous private teaching experience (with all ages of students) as well as knowledge and previous application of standard teaching methods and lesson curriculum for private lessons, and the willingness to work evenings and/or weekends depending on student loads.

VOCAL

  • Teachers: post-secondary music education, experienced with a variety of music genres.

GUITAR

  • Teachers: post-secondary music education, experienced with a variety of music genres.

PIANO

  • Teachers (contemporary or classical): minimum Grade 9 RCM or CC (Grade 10 and/or related degree preferred), previous teaching experience with moderate to advanced students.

VIOLIN/STRING

  • Teachers: post-secondary music education, previous teaching experience on a variety of string instruments is an asset.

DRUM/PERCUSSION TEACHERS

  • Post-secondary music education, previous teaching experience on a variety of percussion instruments preferred – but not required.

Successful applicants will be friendly and outgoing, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, love working in a team and possesses a reliable way getting to the Studio.
