Archived March 11, 2022 Physical Theatre Intensive This three-day, 21-hour intensive workshop for adults will explore performing by incorporating various physical theatre techniques. Each class will begin with physical warm-ups and interactive team-building games. Through corporeal mime exploration, movement, and improvisation exercises, you will explore the masked body as a performance tool, physical characterization using neutral masks, full, and half face character masks. You will develop physical character through movement including; slapstick, clown, and the darker side of clown—bouffon. This intensive is taught by our Artistic Director, Dean Bareham, who has over thirty years of experience in physical theatre. Class sizes are limited to ensure personalized instruction. This course is ideal for students, performers, or anyone interested in exploring physical performative acting techniques. Perfect for the ambitious, the curious, and the fearless.
