It is an off-shoot of The Forgotten One’s Project aimed at raising awareness about social issues, places, and culture. I am a newcomer to this city, the depth of culture I have discovered in my new city is amazing. The other day, I got on the train from Heritage Station and I decided not just to chat with the person I was sitting next to, like I usually do, but I also made sure to ask virtually everyone in my coach where they are originally from. I wasn’t surprised that there only a couple that came from the same part of the world. The rest of us (12) came from totally different parts of the world. This is typical of my city, Calgary. With photography, I am hoping to help tell the story of your culture. And document every culture in the city. Why not visit me at the Calgary Central Library? Come dressed in your cultural outfit and I’d create a portrait of you for free. You will get a digital of the portrait sent to your email. I am looking forward to hearing your story and creating a portrait of you. I’ll be in the studio these hours: Tuesday 6:00 – 8:00pm Thursday 6:00 – 8:00pm Saturday 11:00am – 3:00pm Sunday 2:00 – 4:00pm Available until August 31, 2019.
