Public Art Survey

Flanders Avenue Interchange

From now until May 6, 2018, Canada Lands Company is inviting Calgarians to share their ideas and priorities around public artwork for the Flanders Avenue interchange. Feedback from Calgarians will be used to help shape artwork themes and qualities, as well as the location of the artwork, which will be installed within the Flanders Avenue interchange area (Crowchild Trail and Flanders Avenue SW). The landscaped areas adjacent to the interchange, the side slopes on the west side of Crowchild Trail, the walls on Crowchild Trail and the interchange roundabouts are potential locations.

Both the artwork and the engagement process are being funded by Canada Lands Company. Vancouver-based artist Luke Blackstone has been selected by a volunteer jury to create the artwork, and from April 20 to May 6, the community has a chance to provide input in an online survey that includes videos with the artist.

The Flanders Avenue interchange artwork is scheduled to be completed and installed by the end of 2018.

More information on the Flanders Avenue interchange public art project and the online survey can be found by visiting currielife.ca/publicart.

Date Range: April 20 – May 6, 2018
