The Pumphouse Theatre spring classes are now accepting registrations! We have a variety of different drama classes for ages ranging from eight to 17. Classes will run between March and June of 2019. You can see all of our available classes below!

Playful Drama
Ages: 5-7
Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Mondays, April 1 – June 24, 2019, 5:00 – 6:00pm (no class on April 22, May 20, June 10, 2019)
Cost: $100 ($80 discounted)
This course is a great introduction to the drama basics and covers a variety of topics including story-telling, character, sharing, movement, and theatre games. This is a wonderful way to help your child explore their imagination, learn new skills, and have fun! No experience required!
NEW Playwriting for Teens
Ages: 13-17
Location: Joyce Doolittle Theatre, Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Saturdays, March 30 – June 22, 2019, 10:00am – 12:00pm (no class on April 20, May 18, June 15, 2019)
Cost: $300 ($275 discounted)
This course is designed to give young performers a deeper understanding into the written world of theatre. Through examining classic and contemporary text, students will be guided to explore the craft of playwriting and dramaturgy and learn what it means to tell an effective story. Students will be able to have the opportunity to write their own monologues and short ten minute plays.
Theatre Arts Exploration
Ages: 8-12
Location: Victor Mitchell Theatre, Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Saturdays, March 30 – June 22, 2019, 10:00am-12:00pm (no class on April 20, May 18, June 15, 2019)
Cost: $225 ($200 Discounted)
This course is an exploration of the theatre arts for any experience level and includes scene study, designing, constructing, and performing. Students will have fun exploring theatre arts and learn a lot as they work with scripts and perform for parents at the final class.
Creation in Motion
Ages: 8-12
Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Sundays, March 31 – June 23, 2019, 10:00am – 12:00pm (no class on April 21, May 19, June 9, 2019)
Cost: $225 ($200 discounted)
Explore storytelling and harness imagination through physicality. Creation in Motion will encourage creative expression through movement, choreography, mime, balance, staging, and mask. Students will learn about teamwork, gain self-confidence, and be physically active, all within a safe and engaging environment. No previous experience is required!
Improv for Teens
Ages: 13-17
Location: Pumphouse Theatre (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW)
Dates: Mondays April 1 – June 24, 2019, 6:00 – 8:00pm (no class on April 22, May 20, June 10, 2019)
Cost: $300 ($275 discounted)
Improv is a great way to have fun and explore while bolstering creativity, adaptability, teamwork, and confidence. This course includes lessons in theatresports, character development, story-telling, and many favourite improvisation games. Be inspired to think outside the box, learn something new, and have fun! No previous experience is required!
