Educational Opportunities September 27, 2022 Putting on a Show Without a Theatre Background Teachers in charge of school plays?! We’re here to help! Did you get tasked with putting on your school’s play this year and have no clue where to start? Let us help you! In our new educator program, Putting on a Show Without a Theatre Background, we’ll take you through all of the steps on how to put on your school’s next play or musical to set you up for success. Dates: Wednesdays, November 16, 23, 30, December 7, 2022 Time: 5 – 7pm Price: $150 Grades: K-12 Educators In this course, students will participate in four two-hour long classes that cover everything you need to know to put on a show. Topics covered include: Class One: Getting Started Securing show rights, building your team, creating and following a budget and more! Class Two: Before Rehearsals Start Auditions and casting, creating a rehearsal schedule, your first production meeting and more! Class Three: Creating Production Value Basic theatre tech and costumes on a budget. Class Four: Show Time! Creating your program, marketing & selling tickets, and other show day essentials. Throughout the four-week period, each two-hour class will build on the last one and include planning time to apply concepts covered in this course to your current class needs.
