The application deadline for this opportunity has passed.

Deadline: November 1, 2019

Wellspring Calgary is a warm and welcoming community that provides a comprehensive range of programs, resources and support, free of charge and without referral to anyone living with cancer and the people who care about them.

Our Vision: No one has to face cancer alone.

Wellspring Calgary is opening our second permanent location, Randy O’Dell House, on September 30, 2019. Artistic expression is at the essence of Wellspring and having authentic and beautiful artistic pieces is integral to creating warm and welcoming home-like spaces that are at the core of Wellspring. Using a generous grant from the Philip and Harriet Libin Family Foundation in memory of their daughter Sheryl Ackman, Wellspring is requesting proposals for an art piece.

  • Size: Maximum size is 55” h x 80” w with a minimum size of 40” h x 70” w. May be multiple panels.
  • Location: The piece will be located in the north stairwell between the main and second floors. It is a high traffic area.
  • Theme: We are looking for an artistic expression that embodies Wellspring Calgary’s values of respect, community, compassion and empowerment. A piece that exudes warmth and welcoming and draws in the observer.
  • Budget: The entire cost of the piece cannot exceed $3,000. This includes the framing or encasement if required. Please include a detailed budget in the proposal, including any encasement requirements.
  • Quality: Materials used should be of the quality that the piece will remain intact for future generations at Wellspring.
  • Additional Considerations: Please avoid the use of traditional cancer-specific symbols.
  • Timeline: Commission needs to be completed by July 2020.

Using the above information please email a detailed proposal including sketches, description, artist profile and resume, and budget to Niki Fehr, nikif@wellspringcalgary.ca.
