It is a dynamic career characterised by constant innovation, experimentation, and life-long learning. This is a career that is highly customizable to each individual’s interests and strengths, as they relate to the planning and execution of the wide spectrum of digital/hybrid experiences (festivals, shows, installations, etc.) Apprenticeship #1 Associate Digital Production Manager Learn how to plan for and manage digital/hybrid programming from inception to execution. 100% hands-on learning. The apprentice will have the opportunity to work alongside Savanna and the project teams as associate digital production manager for a full season spanning one major hybrid (live physical and digital) art project and a series of regular weekly programs. This apprenticeship is intended to be a more advanced professional development placement, building on pre-existing event management/arts administration (or comparable) experience. Apprenticeship #2 Associate Digital Designer Learn what assets are needed for various digital/hybrid events and gain experience designing/delivering project assets. All asset creation is either directly (project asset) or indirectly (digital marketing) part of the larger digital dramaturgy (storytelling) of the project as a whole, and founded on experience/interaction design. 100% hands-on learning. Use your content creation skills to tell innovative stories and design unique experiences (videography, graphic design, photography, media art, web design/dev, etc.) The apprentice will have the opportunity to work alongside Savanna and the project teams as associate digital designer for a full season spanning one major hybrid (live physical and digital) art project and a series of regular weekly programs. About the Apprenticeship Host Savanna Harvey is an indie artist (multidisciplinary), performance scholar, and creative producer. She is curious about all things live and performative. Savanna has worked for and been commissioned by numerous major arts organizations, non-profits, festivals, and special projects across Alberta. She has toured Canada with her weird little show about science ghosts and garbage puppets. Since 2020 with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, she has been in constant demand as a digital producer, helping hundreds of artists make the leap online. Recently, she was an artist-in-residence at cSPACE Projects where she researched Interaction Design for Digital and Hybrid Performance. Her most recent writing was published in Luma Quarterly (Summer 2021), The Art Experience vs The Art Object: Performing Arts in the Digital Realm.
