New Motion Gallery invites visual artists to an open call for the new fall exhibit in October, the second annual Chronic Art Show which will include, painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, and sculpture. The show is open to anyone, emerging artists are encouraged to submit their work, as this is a not for profit artist-run gallery, that helps emerging artists get established.

This show will run from October 10 to November 2, 2019, and will be themed cannabis art.

Artists can submit up to eight pieces of artwork (pieces must be no larger than a 3×3’ area) for the three-week show, the submission must be tied to the theme in some capacity and we will need a small bio and story regarding the pieces.

Important Dates:

  • Registration for submission deadline is October 6, 2019. No artwork required at this time.
  • Art drop off will be October 8 or 9, 2019, between 5:00 and 8:00pm, either day.
  • Public artist’s reception will be Thursday, October 17, 2019.
  • A private reception will be held Friday, October 19, 2019 (and will be an adult-only paid event).
  • The exhibition will run from October 10 to November 2, 2019.
  • Art pick up date will be Saturday, November 2, 2019, between 12:00 to 6:00pm.

From October 10 to November 2, 2019, $20 per piece for New Motion members, $30 per piece for the general public. No commissions for the gallery will be taken for this show.

Two art pieces per artist can be entered and are to be juried into the show. you will be notified if any of the work is not accepted.

All mediums, 2 and 3D accepted. All artwork must be wired properly, and ready to hang. All art must be available for purchase, original, and must not be more than two years old. There will be no commission taken for this show, the artists will receive the full amount of the sale minus the Square fees.

Volunteering for at least one day at the gallery will be mandatory, as this is an artist-run show. Artists must share on all social media, must comment and communicate on events, and participate in the public artist reception. Any artwork not sold will be picked up by the artists. Any work not picked up will be stored at $50 a month.

Contract, art details, and tags must be brought to the gallery with your work at drop off times, payment must be received by the October 9 ready to hang, late entries will be charged a late entry fee of $20. There is limited space for this show, early registration is recommended.
